8. Board discussions and votes - Ken Wright discussed selecting a professional events firm to assist with the July Fourth parade. The firm's primary role will be to identify and acquire sponsors, acquire multiple bands for the parade and advise volunteers on ways to improve the quality of parade entries. It is anticipated that fees paid to the firm will be matched by funds given by new sponsors. The theme and character of the parade will not change. If this association is successful, we will consider adding Light up Dunwoody. The DHA Board approved $5000, to be matched by the Crier Newspapers, to hire Holly Mull and Associates for the 2006 July Fourth parade.
