CANCELLED FOR SEVERE WEATHER April 2021 Farmers & Artisan Market @ Brook Run Park
Apr 24 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

A NOTE FROM THE MARKET MANAGER

It seems like our artisan markets are magnets for rain this year - we kicked off in the rain with our artisans on February 13th, and the forecast is calling for rain again for our second artisan market this Saturday.

If it's just rain, market goes on as scheduled. If there's any sort of active weather watch or warning, or a thunderstorm, we cancel. Sometimes (like 3 weeks ago) the radar looks nasty with lots of lightning strikes and I decide to cancel based on that, but I try to minimize those scenarios - especially because the weather doesn't always cooperate!

Behind the scenes, each vendor also watches the forecasts and has to make their own decision about whether to attend when rain is threatening. Some have products that are damaged by moisture, and some don't want to spend the time and money on Friday preparing products that won't get sold if customers don't come out in the rain on Saturday. That's why the vendor list below will almost certainly change - in order to get the newsletter out, I have to write it before many vendors have made their final decisions about coming to market.

With that being said, here's our lineup for this week - lots of your favorite food vendors, and some new artisan vendors to spice things up!

A Note From The Market Manager

May is here, and there's no rain in the forecast for Saturday! Since we cancelled last week, we've got many of our artisan vendors joining us this Saturday for a total of 34 booths.

You'll also notice that we've moved some of our vendors with produce and perishable items over to the shade on the parking lot side. The goal here is to try to minimize losses for these vendors by keeping them out of direct sunlight as much as possible. They'll be in these spaces for the rest of the season, so remember to head for the shade when it's time to get your produce!

From the Market Manager

This Saturday we're pleased to share our beautiful park with the Dunwoody Arts Festival! In addition to the 27 amazing vendors planning to attend our normal 9-1 hours on Saturday, you'll be able to walk down to the Great Lawn and explore roughly 150 additional artists, Georgia grown vendors, kids activities and more!

Due to the presence of the festival in the park, we strongly recommend you come early this weekend. The farmers market opens at 9am and the festival at 10. Parking in the park is limited, but you can also park at Kingswood Church, 4896 N Peachtree Road, at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, 4755 N Peachtree Road and at Peachtree Middle School at 4664 N Peachtree Rd, Atlanta, GA 30337.
