President Stacey Harris opened the meeting and welcomed State Senator Fran Millar and City of Dunwoody councilmen Terry Nall, Doug Thompson, and John Heneghan.

The October minutes were approved as distributed.

Don Boykin, 2002 DHA president and current head of the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce told the board about MARTA plans to extend the North heavy rail line up GA 400.

In 1988 the DHA worked with MARTA to specify the route for the North Line above I-285. The locations for the Dunwoody, Sandy Springs and North Springs stations were identified with input from DHA to avoid unnecessary problems for the Single family neighborhoods in the area. An agreement was reached that specified when the North line was eventually extended north of the North Springs station it would run on the West side or up the middle of Ga 400.

Boykin told the board that MARTA now is considering extending up the East side of GA 400; which would impact neighborhoods. State Senator Millar commented that he, Rep. Jacobs and Rep. Taylor would talk to the MARTA general manager about honoring the 1988 agreement. Current status is waiting on Sen. Millar’s report back to the board on this issue. Boykin made the point that the time to affect the route is now, while MARTA is holding public meetings on the issue.

Bill Grossman reviewed for the board the successful initial season for the Dunwoody Food Truck Thursdays. The DHA event ran on 22 Thursdays starting in late May and every Thursday, except the 4th of July, until October 24. 17 different bands participated and over 30 different food vendors. Grossman told the board that the event is expected to make a small profit for DHA after all accounting for 2013 is done. The board endorsed the idea of starting the 2014 season in late April of 2014.

Stacey Harris told the board that Light Up Dunwoody 2013 was on schedule. (event was well attended on a cold, clear day and a good time was had by all)

Ms. Harris told the board of progress on the annual membership mailing. (was mailed to 16,000 in mid-November)

President Harris reminded the board of the November 11 Veterans day event at Brook Run Park.

Board member Gerri Penn told the board how well the October candidate forum went.

In the board only discussion period Joe Tuttle gave the board a financial report.

President Harris adjourned the meeting.
